Two misfits. One extraordinary love.

Eleanor... Red hair, wrong clothes. Standing behind him until he turns his head. Lying beside him until he wakes up. Making everyone else seem drabber and flatter and never good enough...Eleanor.

Park... He knows she'll love a song before he plays it for her. He laughs at her jokes before she ever gets to the punch line. There's a place on his chest, just below his throat, that makes her want to keep promises...Park. Set over the course of one school year, this is the story of two star-crossed sixteen-year-olds—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try.

MY THOUGHTS

OMG YOU DONT KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE WAITED FOR THIS BOOK TO BE WITH ME. The library doesn't have this book and I don't have the money to buy a book and I couldn't find it for sale anywhere and I was secretly crying a little bit, because I needed this book in my life. And after I had read it, I knew I needed it even more in my life.

Eleanor and Park is one of those books that will stay with you. Actually it's a really simple love story between a boy and a girl in 1986, but it's so much more than that. It are two misfits. Two that don't belong with the rest, but belong with each other.

Park is adorable, and when I say adorable, I really mean squeeze the cheeks kind of adorable. Eleanor has a sad life and I kind of feel bad for her. She has red hair, which is absolutely think is awesome. And Park is a music fan and he just sort of knows what Eleanor will like. And it's so cute with the comics and all. It's all super cute.

But then there is the ending that is devastating and it makes me sad that that was the ending. But I guess I'll have to live with it. I mean, I was in Germany and I must admit that I read most of the book while using my boyfriend as a headrest/pillow and then sometimes I would sob and squeak a little and then he'd be like: what's up? And I'd let him read a section and I don't know what he must've thought then. I mean, he bought me the book, he should've expected me to read it immediately the day he gave it to me.

Rainbow Rowell is on my auto-buy list. I love Fangirl and I love Eleanor & Park and believe me, I'm sure I'll love Attachments and Landline, I just want to save up some money first before I go buy books and all. But Rainbow Rowell is amazing. I love her. She's the best.

If you're looking for a cute romance between two characters, then this one is definitely recommended. Be aware of the sad ending though. The book is beautifully written. I loved it.
